The piece in question framed the deportation of a Maryland man as a grave miscarriage of justice—conveniently omitting crucial details about his criminal background.
The Atlantic’s Monday night article claimed that the administration had wrongly deported a so-called “peaceful” father to El Salvador’s notorious CECOT prison. The publication painted the deportation as an egregious error, insisting the man was falsely accused of MS-13 gang affiliations, with no way to correct the supposed mistake.
