Rep. Jasmine Crockett is facing an unusually fierce backlash from figures on the political left after the Texas Democrat used a congressional recognition to celebrate R&B superstar Chris Brown despite his well-documented history of violence and legal trouble.
Crockett appeared onstage Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, during Brown and Usher’s joint tour. There, she announced that the performers would be recognized in the Congressional Record for their contributions to music and popular culture.
The appearance began with Crockett working the hometown crowd.
