CNN anchor Jake Tapper is facing fierce blowback from his former colleagues — and this time, it’s not just coming from the right. On Tuesday night, NewsNation host and ex-CNN mainstay Chris Cuomo tore into Tapper for what he called a dishonest attempt to rewrite the past when it comes to President Joe Biden’s mental and physical decline.
Tapper, along with Axios journalist Alex Thompson, just dropped a new book titled Original Sin. The bombshell-filled release paints a behind-the-scenes picture of a White House desperate to shield the public from Biden’s obvious struggles — from forgetfulness to physical frailty. But while the content is raising eyebrows, it’s Tapper’s sudden change of tune that’s enraging his critics.
Cuomo was having none of it.
“They want you to believe that the media was deceived into thinking that Biden had no issues,” Cuomo said, laughing in disbelief. “Don’t count me in on that. I knew, okay? And it was no secret because you knew, too.”
