After the announcement of a plea deal, the Department of Justice’s investigation into Hunter Biden’s actions is anticipated to be finished.
President Joe Biden’s son expects to plead guilty to two federal counts of willfully failing to pay federal income taxes, according to a recent court filing by federal prosecutors.

In relation to his two tax violations, U.S. Attorney David Weiss will reportedly ask that Hunter Biden be placed on probation, according to NBC News sources who have seen the whole plea bargain.
According to the formal document, Biden will enter into a pretrial diversion arrangement to address a charge of handgun possession by a drug user or addict.
The deal stipulates that the president’s son must refrain from using drugs for the following two years and pledge to never again own a handgun, according to a story in The New York Times.
Hunter Biden’s criminal defense attorney Chris Clark claimed in a statement to NBC News that it was his client’s “understanding that the five-year investigation into Hunter is resolved.”
“Hunter will take responsibility for two instances of misdemeanor failure to file tax payments when due pursuant to a plea agreement,” Clark said.
“A firearm charge, which will be subject to a pretrial diversion agreement and will not be the subject of the plea agreement, will also be filed by the Government,” he said.
“I know Hunter believes it is important to take responsibility for these mistakes he made during a period of turmoil and addiction in his life. He looks forward to continuing his recovery and moving forward,” he said.
In a statement, Weiss’s office said: “Hunter Biden received taxable income in excess of $1,500,000 annually in calendar years 2017 and 2018. Despite owing in excess of $100,000 in federal income taxes each year, he did not pay the income tax due for either year.”

There was a strong backlash against the announcement and displeasure.
“Hunter Biden pleading guilty to a gun charge and misdemeanor tax charges with no jail time is a stunt to make him look like he is just cooperating with the [Department of Justice],” Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made the statement on Twitter on Tuesday.
“Meanwhile,” she said, “the pathetic and weaponized DOJ who protects their puppet President and refuses to prosecute Joe Biden and Hunter for taking bribes from Ukrainian oligarchs and raking in tens of millions of dollars from foreign countries bc the Big Guy makes policy decisions to be help his customers are the real crimes the Biden’s should be charged with!”
