IRS Boss Gets Surprise Call From Trump!

President Trump has once again proven he’s not afraid to shuffle the deck in Washington. Just weeks after being sworn in as the nation’s top tax man, IRS Commissioner Billy Long is leaving his post — and heading overseas as America’s ambassador to Iceland.

Long, a former Missouri congressman, made the announcement himself Friday, sharing his excitement about the new role.
“It is an honor to serve my friend President Trump, and I am excited to take on my new role as the ambassador to Iceland,” Long posted on X. “I am thrilled to answer his call to service and deeply committed to advancing his bold agenda. Exciting times ahead!”

Until a permanent replacement is named, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will step in as acting commissioner, according to a senior Treasury official who spoke with FOX Business. The department issued a formal statement thanking Long for his service.
“Treasury thanks Commissioner Long for his commitment to public service and the American people,” a Treasury spokesperson wrote. “His zeal and enthusiasm to bring a fresh perspective to the Federal Government was evident in both the House of Representatives and as part of the Trump Administration. A new candidate for Commissioner will be announced at the appropriate time.”
