He highlighted recent violent crimes, such as the murder of college student Laken Riley in Georgia and the brutal rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Texas by undocumented migrants from Venezuela. Steele questioned whether these instances reflect the broader migrant community. Sanders supported the view that these incidents are not representative, citing statistics to bolster her argument. “In Texas, undocumented immigrants were 37.1% less likely to be convicted of a crime,” she noted.
