Rep. Ilhan Omar, the far-left Democrat from Minnesota and self-proclaimed “progressive” voice in Congress, has once again found herself in hot water after unloading a barrage of criticisms against the very nation that gave her refuge. In a stunning interview with left-wing outlet Democracy Now, Omar compared America to a dictatorship and claimed that the United States is quickly becoming “one of the worst countries.”
Let’s not forget—this is a woman who fled Somalia, one of the most violent, failed states on Earth, only to land in the United States and rise to one of the highest offices in our political system. And now? She’s using her platform to condemn the country that gave her everything.
During the interview, Omar complained about U.S. troops responding to protests in Los Angeles the same week President Trump’s administration held a military celebration marking 250 years of the U.S. Army. Rather than honor the men and women who’ve defended her right to even speak, Omar painted the scene as something out of a war-torn dictatorship.
“Can you imagine that image that is going to be coming out of our country? I mean, I grew up in a dictatorship, and I don’t even remember ever witnessing anything like that,” Omar said.
