Judge Stops ICE Cold

U.S. District Judge Rita F. Lin, a Biden appointee, issued a restraining order that barred Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from detaining Guillermo Medina Reyes, a 31-year-old illegal alien from Mexico with a documented history of violence. Reyes was convicted of attempted murder as a juvenile and spent over a decade behind bars.

After his release, ICE detained him, but an immigration judge granted him bond in 2023. His freedom didn’t last long—he was arrested again in 2024 on vandalism charges. ICE moved quickly to take him back into custody.
