The idea that a lawyer for Hunter Biden could subpoena former President Donald Trump is dismissed with confidence by his attorney and spokeswoman, who calls it “ridiculous.”
In an interview with Fox Business Network’s Maria Bartiromo, Alina Habba was asked to respond to claims made by Biden’s attorney, Abbe Howell. Howell asserted that both during and after his time as president, Trump had made multiple public remarks calling for an inquiry or possible prosecution of Mr. Biden.

“Is President Trump expecting a subpoena from Hunter Biden?” Bartiromo asked.
Habba laughed uncontrollably before answering.
“In the event that my client is called to testify, and I have been made aware of this possibility, to address the topic of Hunter Biden, I urge the opposing party to proceed. This attempt to intimidate is clearly baseless. By suggesting that they will retaliate by putting my client in the witness stand, it seems they are resorting to desperate tactics. But what purpose would it serve? My client would simply be stating facts that everyone has already seen, such as pictures, evidence of financial transactions, involvement with drugs, videos, and illicit activities.”

Prior to this, Habba verbally attacked Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, for bringing a $250 million civil fraud case against Trump. While he was still President, James had publicly stated that she wanted to pursue him.
As she moves forward with a civil fraud trial against the former president of the United States, attorney Alina Habba emphasized the breakdown of New York City in a recent interview with Breitbart News on SiriusXM. Initially, Habba ran on a platform of holding him responsible for his deeds.
“She sits there. She sits there, usually takes a couple of notes, and then when there’s a moment to go out to the press, she does her press,” Habba told the program.

She only shows up on well-known days. James’s mother does not visit on any other day, Habba remarked. But even though the city is collapsing, she has been there a lot.
“But it’s quite telling as to what her priorities are as attorney general. And when you take that oath of office, your priority should not be yourself. Your priority should not be your politics. And it should not be trying to achieve a self-interested mission. It should be about taking care of the city,” Habba continued.
Furthermore, she said that James was not smart.
“She’s just not that bright. I’m sorry, I have to say it,” she told Newsmax TV last week, adding that she doesn’t believe James has a good case. “I’ve seen their case; I’ve seen their lawyers. They don’t know what they’re talking about.”
The case’s judge, Arthur Engoron, previously declared Trump guilty of bank fraud in September. But during the course of the trial, he has made it evident that he is biased against the former president and his defense team.
“Just because a bank who’s giving you a loan says it’s worth what the loan amount is, which is what happens when anybody takes a loan out, they’re never going to say the real value,” she continued, per The Hill. “They’re going to say what they want to say and not a penny more, or what the loan amount is and not a penny more.”
“She needs to educate herself, maybe go to some — I don’t even know how to express how ridiculous this is,” Habba said. “It’s like being in a circus with a bunch of — I mean, what I want to say I can’t say on TV, but it’s crazy. You know, it’s just ridiculous. Anybody with a brain understands that this is just completely insane.”
Habba asserted with confidence that President Trump “enjoys the protection of the Secret Service, plain and simple” in response to host Carl Higbie of Newsmax questioning whether or not he could go to jail for breaking a gag order.
“So, I always tell people when they’re panicked, ‘Listen, he’s protected by Secret Service, number one. Number two, he did nothing wrong.’ So, when people go to jail, it’s because they’ve done something wrong. Do we have crooked situations in and out of court? Absolutely. Could they try? Probably, but it won’t work because there is still a trial process, there is still facts, and unfortunately, they’re not going to win on the facts,” she continued.
She added: “Secret Service will always protect President Trump. That’s the truth, they have to wherever he is, but it’s not even something we think about, to be honest, because this is all political. It’s really not— there’s no criminal acts that he’s done. There’s no civil wrongs that he’s done, unless making money for banks is a civil wrong all of a sudden.”
