Huge: Grand Jury Drops Bomb on Baldwin!

Famous actor Alec Baldwin has been officially charged by a grand jury, which could have major legal ramifications. The tragic shooting incident that happened on the set of the movie “Rust” in 2021 is the basis for the involuntary manslaughter charge. On Friday, this noteworthy development was verified.

Actor and producer Baldwin accidentally shot a prop gun that turned out to contain a live round during a rehearsal. Unfortunately, this resulted in Joel Souza, the director, being injured and Halyna Hutchins, the cinematographer, passing away.

To review the case, a 12-member grand jury met at the First Judicial District Court of New Mexico in Santa Fe on Thursday. In order for an indictment to be considered, at least eight jurors had to concur that probable cause existed.

Baldwin has been indicted, exactly a year after the original charges were made public. His legal team is ready to vigorously defend him in court. “We are extremely excited about the chance to argue our case in front of a judge,” lawyers Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas told CNN.

Baldwin can only be found guilty of one of the two involuntary manslaughter counts included in his indictment. He is accused of showing total disregard or indifference towards the safety of others in the more serious charge, which is a felony. He is charged with careless gun handling in the second count. As stated in the indictment, the grand jury heard testimony from a number of the movie’s witnesses.

A forensic examination conducted in October verified that the prop Colt.45 revolver was fired because the trigger was pulled far enough.

According to the firearms report, which was commissioned by the State of New Mexico: “Although Alec Baldwin repeatedly denies pulling the trigger, given the tests, findings and observations reported here, the trigger had to be pulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked or retracted hammer of the evidence revolver.”

Alec Baldwin was initially accused of involuntary manslaughter, but the Santa Fe County District Attorney’s Office later dropped the charges. However, new court filings raise the prospect of additional charges stemming from an ongoing probe into the firearms in question.

Baldwin’s attorney disputed the FBI’s August 2022 confirmation that he was most likely the one who pulled the trigger. Baldwin has insisted repeatedly that he did not pull the trigger in spite of this. In the end, April dismissed the charges against Baldwin.

Prior to the incident, a number of issues were raised about the working conditions, low pay, inadequate hotel accommodations, payment delays, insufficient COVID-19 safety measures, and insufficient procedures for the safe handling of firearms on the set. It’s also crucial to remember that two prop guns had malfunctioned before the incident.

Seven members of the camera crew, who are all union members, made the decision to leave due to conflicts prior to the shooting incident. This happened right before a gunfight scene practice at Bonanza Creek Ranch. Three guns were being readied for this scene, one of which was the weapon used in the incident that followed.

Director Souza and cinematographer Hutchins were hurt when actor Baldwin unintentionally fired a gun during a tragic rehearsal accident. Hutchins tragically died later from her wounds. The emergency services were called right away.
