For years, the IRS has operated under strict confidentiality laws, shielding tax records and other personal data — even when they involve stolen Social Security numbers or fraud committed by illegal aliens. That wall may soon come down.
According to a bombshell report from Politico, ICE and the IRS are on the verge of finalizing a deal that would allow immigration agents access to IRS databases. The information could include names, addresses, and other personal identifiers linked to illegal aliens who filed taxes using stolen identities.
