Thousands of Americans have traveled to Ukraine to fight against Russian aggression, including ex-service men. Tragically, a former Marine from Cleveland, Ohio, who gave the ultimate sacrifice, is one of them.
CNN has been notified by Cooper “Harris” Andrews’ family that he died in Ukraine. They claim that Andrews was probably slain on April 19 while riding on the “Road of Life.” For the Ukrainian military to equip its men in Bakhmut and evacuate people, this road is essential. Regrettably, as Russia struggles to seize control of the city, this area is currently a flashpoint for fighting.
Harris Andrews, a former Marine, was wounded by a shell while working in Ukraine with the Resistance Committee. In November, Andrews left his house to enlist in the Foreign Legion, a team of foreign combatants assisting the Ukrainian military. Despite the fact that his contract was over in March, Andrews opted to stay and keep helping the people of Ukraine. The terrible tragedy was verified by his mother, Willow Andrews.
The mother of the American reported that no trace of her son’s body had been found. She said that at the moment it is difficult due to the continuing conflict in the region. The State Department acknowledged a fatality among Americans but did not provide names. According to a spokeswoman, the organization is “providing all possible consular assistance.”

Grady Kurpasi, a former Marine who traveled to Ukraine to instruct their forces, wound up fighting with them since there weren’t any combat leaders there. Kurpasi tragically perished while leading the Ukrainians into combat. His family has put up a GoFundMe campaign.
