If Kamala Harris becomes president, the United States could see a significant influx of migrants, potentially altering the country’s demographic and economic landscape. A recent analysis by the Brookings Institute estimates that a Harris administration would bring in 12.3 million additional migrants by the end of her first term, with nearly four million arriving in her first year alone.
Since the Biden-Harris Administration took office, the nation has already witnessed a massive surge in illegal immigration. Over nine million illegal aliens have entered the country during this time, according to official figures, though this number doesn’t account for “gotaways”—individuals who avoid detection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Under the Biden administration’s relaxed border policies, illegal migrants have been freely transported across the country. The administration expanded the controversial “catch and release” policy, allowing border crossers to remain in the U.S. while awaiting their immigration hearings. This change came after President Biden rescinded former President Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy, which required asylum seekers to wait in Mexico until their claims were processed. Many of these asylum seekers are traveling from countries far beyond Mexico, in violation of international asylum law, which mandates that they seek refuge in the first safe country they enter.
