The Democrat Betrayal of Legal Immigrants
Democrats love to remind us that “America is a nation of immigrants.” But Gutfeld called them out for betraying the very people they claim to protect.
“For a party that claims to love immigration, who tells us over and over again, we are a nation of immigrants to no end, you just screwed over millions of legal, ideal immigrants,” he said.
While the border remains overrun, legal immigrants are left in the dust—stuck in endless backlogs, watching as lawbreakers are rewarded with housing, benefits, and sanctuary protections.
“The ones who played by the rules by telling them the process doesn’t matter. Come along here,” Gutfeld said, mocking the Left’s careless attitude toward illegal immigration.
Selective Empathy and Manufactured Outrage
The Left’s favorite tool—empathy—was another target of Gutfeld’s takedown. But he wasn’t buying it.
“And then you demand empathy from us?”
That demand for sympathy rings hollow, Gutfeld explained, when Democrats have turned a blind eye to the children trafficked at the border, the victims of criminal aliens, and the American cities drowning under the strain.
“Where was the empathy for the missing, exploited children? Where was the empathy for the victims of illegal criminals?”
“Where was the empathy for the cities that were burdened by all these people? We were paying for their hotel rooms.”
When you wreck the system, you don’t get to play the moral high ground.
“There’s not a single media hack or Democrat that can demand any kind of empathy from us. It’s over. Now, the adults are in charge.”
Sabotaging the Fix—Just to Hurt Trump
But Gutfeld didn’t stop there. He went further—accusing Democrats of actively trying to stop the solution simply because Trump is the one delivering it.
“You guys made this mess. You know what? It kills me. You guys created this mess, Democrats, and there’s a guy that’s trying to correct it. And what do you do? You sue him.”
His biting analogy landed hard.
“It reminds me of like, you know, when a guy performs CPR on a crash victim and saves her life and she sues him for cracking her rib.”
Gutfeld’s point? The Left doesn’t want to fix the problem—they want to weaponize it.
“They don’t want to be saved. I want to know why you are stopping this process.”
“It’s not about the process. You are using the process as a way to prevent the goal.”
Democrats’ Real Agenda: Open Borders, Not Order
While Democrats posture about “process” and “rules,” Gutfeld challenged them to be honest.
“If you believe that we should have a border, then you should be supporting the process, but you don’t really want a border.”
That statement cuts deep. For all their talk about security, Democrats have fought tooth and nail against every effective measure Trump reinstates—whether it’s finishing the wall, reimplementing Remain in Mexico, or halting catch-and-release.
Their lawsuits prove one thing: they’re not interested in fixing immigration. They’re invested in preserving the problem for political gain.
Americans Have Had Enough
Gutfeld’s monologue lit up conservative circles—and for good reason. His words captured what many Americans feel but rarely hear on television.
The Biden-Harris administration allowed the border to collapse. Millions flooded in. Cities were overwhelmed. Legal immigrants were shoved aside. And the same people who caused the disaster now expect a pat on the back for blocking solutions.
But as Gutfeld said: “The adults are in charge.”
