The Swedish Legal Authorities are accusing Greta Thunberg, an environmental activist, with disobeying police instructions while at a climate march in Malmö in June.
The government claimed, “Charges have been brought against a young lady who, on June 19, participated in a climate awareness march. As per the prosecutor’s claims, this demonstration resulted in Malmö’s traffic being disrupted.” They added that the woman in question “did not heed the police directive to vacate the site.”

According to CNN, Annika Collin, a spokesperson of the Swedish Legal Authorities, recognized Greta Thunberg as the person named in the declaration.
“The crime is classified as defiance to law enforcement. The prosecutor states that the act was performed deliberately,” The message went on to add.
Legal experts say that a maximum six-month sentence or other punishment is possible for Thunberg.
Due to her involvement in a protest held by the activist organization Ta Tillbaka Framtiden, Greta Thunberg is being accused. Oil tankers were stopped in one area of the port of Malmö as a result of the demonstration.
“Today, for the third consecutive day, young advocates from @tatillbakaframtiden have stopped oil tankers in the Malmö oil port. The climate emergency is already a matter of survival for innumerable individuals. We opt to not be observers but to physically interrupt the fossil fuel structure. We are recapturing the future,” During the protest, Thunberg posted on Instagram.
Irma Kjellström, a spokeswoman for Ta Tillbaka Framtiden, claimed that Thunberg was one of numerous young people impeding oil vessels. “After stopping the industry that is jeopardizing our future, we are now being accused of a crime. While we face accusations, the actual crime continues behind the gates we obstructed,” she told CNN.
During a German protest against the development of coal mines, Thunberg was held by police but subsequently freed.
