Outgoing Republican Rep. Nancy Mace is entering the next chapter of her public life with a dramatically different appearance — and an explanation almost as surprising as the transformation itself.
The South Carolina Republican unveiled arms covered in tattoos while promoting her new YouTube program, “Get Maced,” giving viewers their clearest look yet at the extensive collection of ink she accumulated during what she has described as an extraordinarily turbulent period.
Mace, 48, had previously acknowledged getting nine tattoos in a relatively short span of time. But she generally kept them out of sight during public appearances, making her latest appearance a jarring change for supporters accustomed to seeing the congresswoman in the halls of Capitol Hill.
