Newly unsealed court records reveal that Ruemmler quietly provided extensive legal assistance to Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender who died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
The disclosures have triggered serious questions inside and outside Goldman Sachs about judgment, ethics, and what the firm knew when it elevated Ruemmler to one of its most powerful executive roles.
Court Records Lay Out Deep Legal Involvement
The revelations stem from a 513-page privilege log filed in a civil lawsuit against Epstein’s estate. The filing catalogs thousands of emails and legal communications spanning more than a decade.
