Gaetz No Longer in AG Consideration — Trump Drops BOMBSHELL!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

Gaetz closed his statement with a pledge of unwavering support for former President Donald Trump. “I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice, and I’m certain he will Save America.”

Former President Trump quickly reacted to Gaetz’s announcement with a statement posted to Truth Social. Trump expressed gratitude for Gaetz’s efforts and hinted at a promising future for the Florida Republican.

“I greatly appreciate the recent efforts of Matt Gaetz in seeking approval to be Attorney General. He was doing very well but, at the same time, did not want to be a distraction for the Administration, for which he has much respect. Matt has a wonderful future, and I look forward to watching all of the great things he will do!”

Trump’s warm words come as speculation mounts about who will now be nominated to lead the Department of Justice.

Gaetz’s decision to step aside came just one day after the House Ethics Committee announced it would not release files from a federal sex trafficking investigation involving him. However, controversy reignited when a document from the Department of Justice’s probe was leaked to The New York Times.

The leaked document reportedly details financial transactions tied to women who claimed they were paid to engage in sexual relations with Gaetz. New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt stated Wednesday night, “It shows [Gaetz] made thousands $ in payments to women who told investigators they had sex with him for money. We are publishing a redacted version of the document.”

Gaetz has consistently denied all allegations, maintaining his innocence throughout the lengthy investigation. The Justice Department ultimately declined to bring charges against him, further complicating the narrative surrounding the accusations.

Just hours before Gaetz’s withdrawal, Trump dismissed concerns that the ongoing allegations had influenced his decision to nominate Gaetz. When pressed by CNN about whether the accusations prompted a reevaluation of his choice, Trump simply replied, “No.”

Now, as Gaetz steps aside, the spotlight shifts to who Trump will select to head the DOJ. With the clock ticking down to the next administration’s potential start, this decision will undoubtedly be critical to implementing Trump’s vision for America’s justice system.

Gaetz’s withdrawal marks a dramatic moment in what was shaping up to be a contentious confirmation battle. While his departure from the nomination process may quell some political turmoil, it raises new questions about the dynamics within Trump’s camp and the future of the Department of Justice.
