“Free Karmelo” Mob Beats Woman — 1 Arrested

“While getting jumped they [were] yelling out ‘Free Karmelo’ — saying they [were] going to target the smallest white girl they could find,” Lee wrote alongside photographs showing what appeared to be injuries, including a bloody face and a swollen black eye.

Lee insisted she did nothing to provoke the encounter and said the attack came completely out of nowhere.

“I never said a word to these girls, never looked at them, and don’t know them at all,” Lee wrote. “[B]lack eye, and staples in my HEAD! [I] was LEAKING blood on the back of [sic] head & my face. [T]otally caught me off guard. THIS SHIT IS NOT OKAY!!!!!”

Authorities have made at least one arrest in connection with the alleged assault. According to local reports, Ciarrianne Fuller was taken into custody and charged with assault causing bodily injury. She is currently being held in the Gregg County Jail on a $20,000 bond while investigators continue examining the case. Officials have not publicly stated whether the alleged assault was politically or racially motivated, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The reported incident comes only days after 19-year-old Karmelo Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet, a case that generated widespread national attention and intense public debate.

Following the verdict, Anthony’s newly assembled legal team announced it would take over his defense as preparations begin for an appeal of his murder conviction.

Anthony’s parents also criticized the outcome of the trial, arguing that their son never received a fair presumption of innocence.

“It was no innocent ’til proven guilty. He was already guilty,” Anthony’s parents claimed during an interview following the verdict.

Court testimony painted a dramatically different picture of the events leading to Metcalf’s death. A 17-year-old witness testified that Anthony was repeatedly asked to leave the opposing team’s tent—reportedly as many as 15 times—but refused to comply.

According to the witness, Anthony responded with the warning, “Touch me and find out,” before engaging in a heated argument with Austin Metcalf that lasted roughly two minutes. The witness testified that after Metcalf gave Anthony what was described as a “minor pushing,” Anthony stabbed him.

Another witness testified that Anthony became increasingly confrontational before the stabbing.

According to that testimony, Anthony declared, “I’m not leaving, fuck you all.” The witness further stated that Anthony reached into his backpack while calling the surrounding students “a bunch of pussies.”

As the investigation into the Longview bar assault continues, authorities have not confirmed any connection between the alleged attackers and Anthony beyond Lee’s account. Investigators are expected to continue reviewing witness statements and available evidence as the criminal case moves forward.
