Ford Recall ROCKS Auto Industry!

Ford Motor Company has once again been forced to admit to serious safety failures. This time, the automaker is recalling more than 100,000 F-150 pickup trucks over a defect that federal regulators warn could lead directly to crashes on America’s roads.

Axle Defect That Could Kill Power—or Let the Truck Roll Away

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall involves 103,000 F-150s that were built between January 2, 2023, and May 21, 2025.

The problem? Axle hub bolts that can break without warning. If that happens, the truck may suddenly roll away even when the parking brake is set, or lose power altogether because the broken bolt could damage the axle hub splines—the critical part that sends power to the wheels.

The federal safety regulator didn’t mince words. “Both of these conditions can increase the risk of a crash,” the NHTSA warned in its official recall notice.

Warning Signs Before the Failure

The agency added that some drivers may get an early clue before disaster strikes. “If the bolt breaks, customers may report a rattle noise,” the NHTSA said.
