In a statement, the U.S. District Attorney’s office said that Inman “received and saved many videos of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)” that “depicted adults sexually assaulting young children” between August and October 2024.
By pretending to be the father of a nine-year-old boy whom Inman had showed interest in sexually abusing, he reportedly forwarded these pictures to an undercover police officer.
The complaint claims that as FBI investigators searched his house, he tried to erase the evidence and hid in the attic.
Inman faces a minimum sentence of five years in federal prison for the offense of transporting child sex abuse material. He might spend up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Orlando, Florida — United States Attorney Roger B. Handberg reports that Matthew A. Inman, 39, of Orlando, has been arrested and that a criminal complaint has been filed against him for transportation-related offenses.
The complaint alleges that Inman received and stored many recordings of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on his phone between August and October of 2024. These movies showed small children being sexually assaulted by adults. After visiting Las Vegas in October 2024, Inman started corresponding online with a law enforcement undercover agent who was pretending to be the father of a 9-year-old boy. Inman indicated interest in meeting and sexually abusing the alleged minor throughout this exchange. Additionally, he supplied the undercover cop CSAM films.
The FBI was able to secure a search warrant for Inman’s home and electronic equipment. Inman tried to hide in his home’s attic and erase the evidence from his phone while the search warrant was being carried out.
