Find Out Kari Lake’s Lifechanging Decision

Republican candidate for governor of Arizona in 2022 Kari Lake has acknowledged that she was offered a sizable quantity of money and a coveted position on a business board in exchange for dropping out of the 2024 race.

Lake is thinking of seeking the U.S. Should her legal challenge against Katie Hobbs’ election as the Democratic governor in November fail to provide the intended results, she plans to run for the Senate the following year.

“A couple months ago I had a call from a very powerful person in Arizona and said I have to come over and talk to you in person. This can’t be done on the phone,” Lake told radio talk show host Eric Metaxas on Tuesday, while promoting her new book, “Unafraid: Just Getting Started.”

A man paid her an unexpected visit and made her an enticing offer: a position on a board, a position with a prestigious title, and a handsome salary—all in exchange for a vow not to run for office in the approaching 2024 election.

Lake responded, “Really, are you serious? I walked away from a prestigious job. I walked away from money. I’m not motivated by that.”

An Iowa native took a big risk in March 2021 and quit her well-paying position as an evening news anchor for the Fox affiliate in Phoenix. A few months later, she declared her candidacy for governor because she was determined to make a difference.

Having evicted the man from her home, Lake informed Metaxas that he then extended an endless proposal.

“He said, ‘How much would it take? What would it take? Just for two years,’” she recalled.

“They don’t want me on the ballot. They don’t want Trump on the ballot because they know, ‘We the people’ will show up and vote in droves,” Lake said.

“And they know that if they pull another rigged election,” she continued. “First of all, it’s going to be a lot harder because we know every which way that they are cheating, and I think they know they can’t pull another one like that.”

Despite its morally dubious nature, Lake claimed that the offer to withdraw from the race has forced her to reevaluate her role in politics.

“I haven’t decided what I’m going to do next. There is a Senate seat that’s going to be up for grabs this go-around,” she explained.

Currently serving as the senator is Kyrsten Sinema, a former Democrat who is now an independent who supports the Democrats in the Senate.

Sinema changed her party affiliation to independent in December, consistently supporting President Joe Biden’s agenda with 93 percent of her votes. Her vulnerability to a prospective challenge from fellow Democrat Rep. Ruben Gallego in Arizona’s primary election has been increased by this choice, though.

Democrats reacted negatively to Sinema’s refusal to do away with the Senate filibuster rule, which prevented the passage of federal voting rights legislation. She also opposed Biden’s measure, known as Build Back Better, which sought to spend nearly $2.4 trillion on various projects in the fall of 2021.

She voted in favor of the Inflation Reduction Act, a scaled-down version of the proposal, in August 2022.

In April, The Wall Street Journal reported that Sinema was preparing to run as an independent for re-election. With Sinema, Gallego, who is widely expected to be the Democratic nominee, and the ultimate victor of the Republican primary, this creates the conditions for a fascinating and surprising three-way race.

It is clear from a recent commentary by Phil Boas of The Arizona Republic that Sinema is actively running for office.

Limited polling data points to a probable three-way contest, with Gallego leading Lake by a narrow margin and Sinema by a substantial margin, according to a recent poll by OH Predictive Insights. 1,000 registered voters were surveyed in the poll between late January and early February.

In the GOP primary for the Senate, Lake is the clear favorite, with support from 38% of voters, according to a recent poll. Following closely behind are previous 2022 gubernatorial candidate and developer Karrin Taylor Robson, who has 10 percent of the vote, Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb, who has 8% of the vote, and 2022 Arizona Senate candidate Blake Masters, who has 7%.

Recently, J. Between April 10 and April 12, 550 registered Republicans and undeclared voters were questioned by L. Partners poll. The results are insightful and have a plus or minus 4.2 percentage point margin of error.

Lake concluded, “The fact that they came to my door and said, ‘What is it going to take to have you put your movement on ice?’ tells me we need to keep our movement going.”
