This latest ruling extends the block to six more states, including Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West During a time of heated debate, this legal intervention underscores the contentious nature of the changes which redefine “sex” to encompass “gender identity,” thereby impacting access to gender-specific facilities like locker rooms.

Judge Reeves’s decision marks a critical juncture in the ongoing legal battle over the scope of Title IX. His memorandum points out that the Department of Education might have overstepped its boundaries with these sweeping changes. “There are two sexes: male and female,” Judge Reeves firmly stated in his ruling, challenging the new definitions brought forth under the recent amendments.
