After more than five years, the Justice Department’s investigation into Hunter Biden came to a conclusion, leading to a plea agreement that many see as an injustice parody.
The Justice Department’s constant intervention throughout the inquiry resulted in the President’s son receiving reduced punishment for tax offenses and a firearms allegation.
Scott Nelson, a former deputy assistant director of the FBI, harshly criticized the Justice Department’s handling of the Hunter Biden probe. Nelson contends that political favoritism appears to be the driving force behind the light punishment granted to Biden. On the podcast hosted by John Solomon Reports, he made some remarks.
“The Department of Justice, in my humble view, and in the view of many others, they’re slow walking,” Nelson said. “They undercharged that to a point of it being almost ludicrous.”
Two IRS whistleblowers who were involved in the Hunter Biden case have claimed that the Justice Department and IRS leadership engaged in political intervention.
“I also understand . . . that prosecution of him was downgraded to the point, I mean, I hate this word, but it’s called a ‘nothing burger.’ And it became a nothing burger,” Nelson continued. “Not only did he avoid paying taxes on a lot of money, but he avoided jail time for a gun-related charge that under any other conditions would have been prosecuted much more severely.”
Due to his tardiness in making payments totaling more than $100,000 in 2018 and 2019, Hunter Biden is facing criminal tax charges.

Whistleblowers have found plenty of proof that the President’s son may be liable for millions in past taxes that go all the way back to 2014.
In order to purchase a weapon in 2018, Biden falsely said on a federal firearms application that he did not now use illicit narcotics.
“If you lie to the FBI . . . you go to jail in a way or you know, you get charged,” Nelson explained. “But in this case, that was far more serious. I think it’s been slow-walked by the FBI. They’re dragging their heels. I don’t think it’s been given sufficient investigative attention because of the politicization of the Department of Justice.”
Nelson claims that the FBI’s top levels of leadership are currently experiencing difficulties.
“According to polls, overwhelming polls, ongoing polls, the trust, the confidence and the support of the FBI, has diminished, has tanked,” Nelson said.
He criticized Christopher Wray, the FBI director, for “leading from the middle.”
“He’s not serving either side,” Nelson added. “And as a result, our ship is wandering through this ocean, and somebody’s going to sink it. And the FBI is going to going to be hurt by that.”
The FBI and Justice Department’s reputations have already been damaged by political meddling, and now the investigation into Hunter Biden is doing the same.
