Fani Willis Caught in Legal Shockwave!

In a significant legal development, Fulton County Superior Court declared District Attorney Fani Willis in default for failing to comply with an open records lawsuit. The lawsuit, filed by Judicial Watch, sought records of Willis’ communications with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the House January 6 Committee.

Earlier this year, the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch petitioned the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia, to issue a default judgment against Willis. This came after the district attorney refused to respond to the lawsuit, which demanded records of her communications with federal entities regarding the January 6 investigation and her probe into former President Donald Trump and his associates.

The lawsuit was rooted in concerns about potential coordination between Willis’ office and federal officials. Last year, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan initiated an inquiry into whether Willis had worked closely with federal authorities during her years-long investigation into Trump. In his letter to Willis, Jordan explicitly requested all correspondence between her office and the Department of Justice (DOJ), including Special Counsel Jack Smith.
