European elites have spent decades eroding Christian traditions in the name of inclusion. Now, the consequences of that cultural surrender are arriving faster than anyone anticipated.
In Brussels, the city’s attempt to avoid offending Muslims with a politically correct nativity scene ended in shocking desecration. Less than two days after officials unveiled the display, someone beheaded the infant Jesus.
On November 26, the historic Grand-Place showcased a new nativity scene featuring Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus as faceless patchwork dolls. Beige and brown fabrics replaced the familiar wooden figures that had stood in the same spot for 25 years. The city said the change was meant to reflect “an inclusive mix of all skin tones.”
The $75,000 installation, designed by artist Victoria-Maria using recycled textiles, came after Socialist Mayor Philippe Close claimed the old wooden figures were too damaged for reuse.
