Actress Eva Longoria, best known for her role on Desperate Housewives, has revealed she has left the United States following Donald Trump’s presidential election victory. In an interview with Marie Claire, Longoria described her decision to split her time between Spain and Mexico, calling the current state of America “dystopian.”
Longoria opened up about her struggles with the state of the nation, citing homelessness, high taxes, and the political climate as reasons for her move. “I had my whole adult life here,” she said, reflecting on her time in California. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California—it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

While many Americans face similar frustrations, Longoria acknowledged her privilege, saying, “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”
