Democrat Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona lashed out at Elon Musk after the billionaire called him a “traitor” for his recent visit to Ukraine. Musk accused Kelly of attempting to undermine President Donald Trump’s ongoing efforts to bring an end to the war in Ukraine.
Kelly took to X, the platform owned by Musk, on Monday to fire back. “Traitor? Elon, if you don’t understand that defending freedom is a basic tenet of what makes America great and keeps us safe, maybe you should leave it to those of us who do.”

Kelly, a retired Navy Captain and former NASA astronaut, traveled to Ukraine alongside his identical twin brother, Scott Kelly, who also served as a Navy Captain and Space Shuttle pilot. Their visit, which came at a critical time, drew sharp criticism from Trump allies, who accused them of interfering with diplomatic efforts.
