The Obama Presidential Library in Hoffman Estates is distinct from the Obama Presidential Center, which is under construction near Jackson Park on Chicago’s South Side and set to open next year. Unlike the center, which is overseen by the Obama Foundation, the Hoffman Estates site—like all presidential libraries—is managed by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
