Scarborough, a former Republican-turned-MSNBC darling, admitted that independents and even rational Democrats would have to concede that DOGE’s mission was a worthy one.
“In theory, this would be wonderful. In theory, this is wonderful. Whether you’re talking about the Pentagon, whether you’re talking about the VA, whether you’re talking about social security, anybody that has tried to deal with the IRS and how antiquated, and I may say for Republicans, understaffed!” Scarborough stated.
Even he recognized that the nation’s soaring debt and runaway inflation cannot be tackled without reining in bloated government spending.
“All these agencies are, they’re not going to tackle the $36 trillion debt by doing all the things they want to do and cutting some employees here and there. So, yeah, this is, I think, a concept that many Americans would support. A lot of independents would support that,” Scarborough admitted.
Of course, Scarborough couldn’t stray too far from MSNBC’s party line. He quickly followed up with the usual left-wing talking points, questioning whether Musk’s mission was constitutional.
“The question, though, is: is it being done legally? Is it being done constitutionally? And is it being done transparently?” he asked.
Despite this predictable skepticism, Scarborough did acknowledge the importance of transparency, praising Musk for directly addressing reporters in the Oval Office.
“I think Elon Musk getting before reporters, I actually think as much as possible, since his people are running through these government agencies, I think that is extraordinarily important,” Scarborough continued.
Americans are fed up with politicians throwing their hard-earned money away. That’s why Trump’s approval rating has surged to 53% in a CBS poll—people see him and Musk implementing common-sense solutions while the Left clings to failed policies.
The waste Musk and DOGE have uncovered is staggering. At a press conference, Musk highlighted one particularly outrageous example.

“So — I’m not sure we should be sending $50 million worth of condoms anywhere, frankly. I’m not sure that’s something Americans would be really excited about. That’s really an enormous number of condoms when you think about it. But if it went to Mozambique instead of Gaza, it’s not as bad but still, why are we doing that?” Musk asked.
It’s hard to justify such absurd spending, and most Americans would agree it’s a colossal waste.
DOGE has already identified hundreds of billions in taxpayer money being funneled into bizarre, unnecessary expenditures like this. Even MSNBC hosts—who rarely stray from the Democrat narrative—are being forced to acknowledge the truth.
Elon Musk and DOGE aren’t just saving taxpayer dollars; they’re exposing the deep rot in Washington. And when even the mainstream media starts to admit it, you know something big is happening.
