Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is facing renewed scrutiny over his family’s political history after social media posts attributed to his half-sister resurfaced.
The controversy centers on comments made by Eman Abdelhadi more than a decade ago, describing her mother’s involvement with the Muslim Brotherhood and expressing concern for relatives who supported the organization in Egypt.
El-Sayed has publicly rejected claims that he or his family maintain ties to the group.
