El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele openly mocked a U.S. District Judge after flights carrying hundreds of gang members landed in his country, despite an emergency order attempting to halt their deportation. The flights, which transported between 250 and 300 criminals, included Venezuelan gang members and fugitives from the notorious Tren de Aragua. The ACLU had pushed for the last-minute legal intervention, but by the time the order was issued, it was too late.


Bukele wasted no time rubbing it in. Quoting a New York Post headline that reported the judge’s failed order, he posted simply: “Oopsie…Too late.”

The gang members, shackled and surrounded by a heavy security presence, were immediately processed and taken to El Salvador’s ultra-secure Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT). Bukele shared footage of their arrival, showing them being escorted off the planes and later having their heads shaved by masked security personnel.
