Predictably, Democrats and their media allies are escalating attacks on Musk and DOGE, desperate to undermine their efforts.
But President Donald Trump is standing firm in support of Musk’s initiative.
Last week, Trump signed an executive order formalizing DOGE’s cost-cutting mission.
“Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order Implementing the President’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cost efficiency initiative,” the White House announced. “President Trump has made cutting federal expenditures and promoting governmental efficiency a priority in his second term.”
Trump also defended Musk after an email from DOGE sparked backlash. The email, sent to federal employees, requested they submit a short list of five work-related accomplishments from the prior week—failure to respond would be considered a resignation.
Musk addressed the uproar during Trump’s first Cabinet meeting, explaining the policy.
“Our goal is not to be capricious or unfair,” Musk stated. “We want to give people every opportunity to send an email, and the email could simply be ‘What I’m working on is too sensitive or classified to describe.’”
He clarified that even a response like that “would be sufficient.”
Trump backed Musk’s decision, warning unresponsive employees that they were “on the bubble.”
The Left isn’t just relying on the media to fight back—activist judges are using their positions to try to block DOGE’s work. But Musk and his team remain undeterred, pushing forward with their mission to eliminate reckless spending.
On Saturday, DOGE reached a major milestone, further fueling Democratic outrage.
In a post on X, the department announced that it had officially terminated over 3,000 wasteful government contracts.

“Yesterday, agencies cancelled 128 contracts for ~$60M of savings,” DOGE reported. “Total terminations of wasteful contracts has now surpassed 3,000 since DOGE’s inception!”
Among the latest cuts? A baffling $3.5 million consulting contract for “larval fish monitoring,” which the Bureau of Reclamation itself admitted was “non-essential.”
With the national debt soaring past $37 trillion, Musk’s team is setting its sights on a much bigger goal—eliminating $1 trillion in wasteful government spending.
As Democrats wage war against Musk and DOGE, the battle over America’s fiscal future is just getting started.
