According to Axios, the bill’s five pages would mandate that the first report be submitted within a week, covering all DOGE activities since President Trump returned to office.
For now, the bill is a symbolic gesture, but it comes as Democrats face increasing pressure from progressives, who are accusing them of failing to stand up to Musk’s actions. Following the “Hands Off” protests last Saturday, Democrats are feeling the heat from their base, and this bill represents their attempt to demonstrate that they are taking action.
Meanwhile, GOP leadership remains focused on other legislative priorities.
