DNA Test FAILS as Reward in Guthrie Case Explodes

The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, has deepened as investigators revealed a major forensic setback—DNA recovered near the scene does not match any profiles in federal criminal databases. Despite weeks of searching, the case remains unsolved, prompting an anonymous donor to dramatically increase the reward for information to a staggering $200,000.

Nancy Guthrie vanished in the early hours of Feb. 1 from her home in Tucson, Arizona. According to reports, she was last seen at her residence before authorities believe she was forcibly taken sometime overnight. Her disappearance immediately sparked national attention, given her daughter’s high-profile role on NBC’s “Today” show and the disturbing nature of the evidence left behind.

In the days following her disappearance, investigators located a glove roughly two miles from the Guthrie home. The item was considered significant because it appeared consistent with gloves worn by a masked individual captured on a doorbell camera near the residence. The glove was turned over to federal authorities for advanced forensic testing, including genetic genealogy analysis.
