The character, named “Sister,” appears in the new book Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers, which has officially entered the Star Wars canon. Sister’s armor is uniquely adorned with the colors of the transgender pride flag, an eye-catching addition to the intergalactic universe.
The introduction of Sister marks another significant step in Disney’s continued effort to push what many are calling a “progressive agenda” in its ownership of the Star Wars franchise. Sister, who was originally introduced in the 2022 book Queen’s Hope, has now been fully established as part of the Star Wars universe with a backstory that focuses on her gender identity and her place among the clone troopers.

According to the book, Sister’s fellow soldiers not only accepted her but gave her the affectionate title of “Sister” as a symbol of unity and respect. “When one of our kind expressed her gender identity differently than her fellow troopers, she featured she’d have to hide who she truly was inside,” the book states. “Fortunately, her brothers in the 7th Sky Corps gave her the name Sister as a constant reminder that she belonged.”
