ABC’s flagship talk show, The View, is reportedly under pressure from higher-ups at Disney and ABC News to cut back on its relentless political tirades, particularly its obsessive focus on President Donald Trump.
For years, The View has doubled as a daily liberal think tank, where co-hosts like Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg deliver synchronized salvos at conservatives, with Trump serving as their favorite target. But now, the top brass appears to be growing uneasy with the unfiltered political slant.
According to reports, Disney CEO Bob Iger and ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic have both expressed concerns directly to the show’s team. The Daily Beast revealed that Karamehmedovic held a meeting with The View executive producer Brian Teta and the panelists, urging them to balance their commentary with more lighthearted, entertainment-focused content.
