DHS Report Undercuts Biden’s Border Record

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced Thursday that the Trump administration has located at least 146,000 migrant children who had previously been flagged as unaccounted for after entering the United States illegally during the Biden administration. The development marks one of the most significant updates yet in the ongoing federal review of unaccompanied minors who were released from custody into sponsor arrangements.

Speaking during a press briefing, Markwayne Mullin outlined the scale of the challenge his team inherited, stating that approximately 450,000 migrant children were effectively lost from active tracking after being transferred out of federal custody or placed with sponsors across the country.

Officials say that while roughly 146,000 children have now been located, an estimated 300,000 remain unaccounted for as federal investigators continue tracing leads nationwide.

During his remarks, Mullin described troubling allegations tied to some of the cases being reviewed.

“We’re investigating reports to where some of these kids claim that they were raped 600 to 700 times,” Mullin said.
