“Here at home, we’re bringing our economy back from the brink of ruin,” Trump declared. “The price of a Thanksgiving turkey was down 33% compared to Biden last year. The price of eggs is down 82% since March.”
Trump inherited 3% inflation from Biden in January—the same 3% rate that persists today after Democrats spent trillions driving prices sky-high. At least prices have stabilized under Trump, instead of spiraling uncontrollably like they did under Biden.
Democrats Lecturing Americans About the Economy? Seriously?
The corporate media and Democrats immediately pounced on Trump’s speech, calling him “out of touch” with everyday Americans struggling to make ends meet.
Wait a minute—Democrats lecturing anyone about economic hardship? These are the same people who said inflation was “transitory” while gas hit $5 per gallon, printed trillions in “emergency” funds for their favorite special interests, and shut down businesses during COVID while acting shocked when supply chains collapsed.
Now, they want credit for caring about affordability. After creating the crisis. Right.
Democrats Discover Voters Hate the High Prices They Created
In November’s off-year elections, something remarkable happened: Democrats started celebrating their victories, and the media acted as if they had reinvented the wheel.
Democratic candidates in Virginia and New Jersey campaigned on lowering costs and improving affordability. Abigail Spanberger beat her opponent by 15 points in Virginia, and Mikie Sherrill defeated Jack Ciattarelli by 13 points in New Jersey, promising to reduce utility bills and living expenses.
Headlines screamed, “Democrats found their winning message!” and “Affordability is the key to 2026!”
But here’s the truth: Democrats didn’t invent anything. They simply copied Trump’s 2024 campaign playbook. Trump won by promising to cut grocery prices, lower energy costs, and make life affordable for working Americans. That message toppled Kamala Harris and left voters remembering when costs were actually lower.
Media Ignores the Real Story
The media won’t tell you the full picture. These Democratic victories occurred in deep-blue states where Republicans always face uphill battles—Virginia went for Biden by 10 points in 2020, New Jersey by 16 points. These are strongholds, not swing states.
The actual story is that Democrats are so desperate after being decimated in 2024 that they had to plagiarize Trump’s entire economic message just to secure wins at home.
Remember when Democrats insisted inflation wasn’t real? Or claimed the economy was booming? Or dismissed grocery price concerns as Republican fear-mongering? Suddenly, they care now that Trump has made affordability the defining issue.
Biden’s Economic Denial Crushed Democrats
Joe Biden spent his presidency insisting the economy was strong while families watched paychecks shrink and prices soar. That denial helped sink Democrats in 2024. Trump, on the other hand, is delivering results: prices are stabilizing, the stock market is booming, manufacturing jobs are returning, and energy production is surging.
Democrats can copy Trump’s message all they want. But voters remember who printed trillions, shut down energy, and drove costs sky-high. And now they’re seeing Trump fix it.
Trump Exposes Democrats’ Economic Hypocrisy
Wednesday’s speech brilliantly reminded Americans which party delivers real results. Democrats promise lower costs after raising them, fight inflation after causing it, and support families after hurting them. Trump doesn’t promise—he acts, and voters see the difference.
The media wants this story to be about Trump being “out of touch” while Democrats “connect with voters.” The real story: Democrats are so idea-starved they must copy Trump’s message, hoping the public forgets they caused the problems in the first place.
Trump won in 2024 by making affordability the centerpiece of his campaign. Democrats can try to co-opt that message for 2026, but the results speak for themselves. Trump is cutting red tape, boosting energy production, reviving manufacturing, and delivering tangible results for American families.
Democrats can talk all they want. Trump is actually making life more affordable.
