It’s a tale as old as politics: the moment a Democrat decides to stray off the party’s approved script, the knives come out. And this time, the target is Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman — the same man the left once rallied around despite major health scares during his Senate campaign.
Back in 2022, Democrats stood by Fetterman even as he struggled to string sentences together following a stroke. They insisted he was fit for office and showered him with support all the way to Washington. But loyalty has its limits — and for Fetterman, that limit seems to be having his own opinions.
According to a recent Associated Press piece, “Democrats are trying to figure out what to do about John Fetterman. One of them is stepping up.” That “one” happens to be former Congressman Conor Lamb, who once styled himself as a centrist Democrat able to win over Trump territory but now appears eager to slide into the party’s establishment mold.
Lamb, who represented a district that went solidly for Donald Trump, is reportedly “crisscrossing Pennsylvania and social media, looking and sounding like he’s preparing to challenge Fetterman again.”
