For decades, Democrats have been quietly inflating their political power by counting non-citizens in the census, boosting blue state populations and giving themselves extra representation they don’t deserve. Missouri is finally pushing back.
On Friday, Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway filed a federal lawsuit that could shake Washington. The suit demands the entire 2020 census be redone, excluding illegal immigrants and visa holders, and seeks to restore the congressional seat Missouri lost to California.
How Blue States Exploit the Census for Political Gain
Here’s the scheme in plain terms. The U.S. Constitution requires that House seats be apportioned based on the “whole number of persons in each State.” Democrats have interpreted “persons” to include everyone on U.S. soil—illegal immigrants, temporary visa holders, even tourists.
California counts more than 2.1 million illegal immigrants toward its congressional apportionment. New York adds hundreds of thousands more. None of these individuals can vote, yet their presence inflates population numbers, handing Democrats extra House seats and Electoral College votes that rightfully belong to states where actual citizens live.
