Bell, facing the harsh reality of her situation, called upon city leaders to address her plight. In another post, she pleaded:
“Hey @AaronPeskin @RafaelMandelman @LondonBreed would be cool if I could get my stuff back but also; maybe you could do something to make sure that companies like Uhaul put GPS on their vehicles so when theft occurs, I could at least know where my stuff went.”
Her frustrations didn’t stop there. In another emotional post, she highlighted broader issues with the city:
“I’m like moving out of my house because I can’t afford to live here anymore, my kid just broke his femur at one of your many, underfunded SFUSD schools and there was no nurse present to help him, I had to push him to my car in a rolling office chair – lmao WTF is this city?”
Despite her personal loss, Bell’s ideology hasn’t wavered. Remarkably, she expressed no interest in prosecuting the criminals who robbed her, instead hoping for the return of her sentimental items. She posted:
“I just want my s*** back, the sentimental stuff, please. I don’t care about the people who stole it, people steal s***, I just hope they take the stuff they need and I can recover the personal stuff that’s the stuff I’m struggling with.”
Speaking to the New York Post, Bell shared her frustration with law enforcement and U-Haul’s policies:
“I haven’t found my s***! The cops didn’t do s***! U-Haul made me file a f****** police report! There’s cameras all over this city. They haven’t done s***! I just want my stuff back!”
