Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX), known for her fiery rhetoric and allegiance to the far-left wing of her party, has made her ambitions clear: if Democrats reclaim the House of Representatives in 2026, she wants to take the reins of the powerful House Oversight Committee—and use it to go after President Donald Trump.
Appearing on MSNBC this weekend, Crockett wasted no time launching into political attacks and laying out her vision for a Democrat-led investigation blitz. With the recent passing of Rep. Gerry Connolly, who had served as the ranking member on the Oversight Committee, Crockett is already eyeing the chairmanship should her party regain control.
“Well, Alex, I’m glad you asked! Listen, so long as we end up taking the House, which I fully anticipate that we will do and we are going to work hard to help our Senate colleagues as well, then as someone who serves on the Oversight Committee and hopes to lead the Oversight Committee, I will guarantee you that we will do what we are supposed to do as Constitutionally sworn members of the House which means we will conduct oversight,” Crockett declared on MSNBC.
Crockett’s appearance came during a segment focused on Donald Trump’s America First economic policies, including his successful Middle East diplomacy and tough tariff strategies—policies that Democrats have continuously vilified despite their clear successes.
