Crisis Mode: America’s Major Cell Providers Down!

Concerns about a possible cyberattack were raised this morning when tens of thousands of subscribers experienced outages in their mobile, internet, and home phone services.

Thousands of users were affected by outages that began at 4 am Eastern time and affected the Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular networks. Cricket, an AT&T subsidiary, stated that 11,000 of its customers were impacted.

AT&T customers accounted for the majority of the issues; complaints peaked at 31,931 at 4:30 am and escalated to 71,000 by 8 am.

AT&T encouraged customers to use Wi-Fi whenever feasible and said they are actively working to restore service.

We are aware of some customers being impacted by wireless service outages this morning. promptly bringing back service. Please call using Wi-Fi until the issue is addressed.

Phones stuck in SOS mode, which restricts calls to emergencies, have been reported by certain consumers. Furthermore, some 911 centers are not able to take calls.
