A newly released batch of declassified FBI files is raising serious questions about former FBI Director James Comey’s role in fueling the infamous “Russia collusion” narrative — and whether classified information was deliberately leaked to undermine President Donald Trump.
The revelations were brought to light by investigative journalist and Just the News founder John Solomon during an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity. Solomon detailed how Comey appeared to sidestep official FBI communication channels, allegedly working behind the scenes to manipulate the media narrative in Washington. According to Solomon, the move was designed to repair his image among Democrats after 2016 while tarnishing Trump’s presidency.
“What you find out is that James Comey decided not to work through the FBI press office when he wanted to change the narrative in Washington, burnish his reputation against attacks from Democrats, and try to sully Donald Trump’s reputation,” Solomon explained.
Solomon noted that many Democrats were furious with Comey in the final days of the 2016 campaign. His public announcement that new evidence might exist in the Hillary Clinton email investigation just before Election Day was widely blamed for Clinton’s loss. Hillary herself directly accused Comey of costing her the White House.
