Despite being the subject of four criminal charges, CNN’s election analyst asserted on Monday that former President Donald Trump is engaged in a competitive race with President Joe Biden.
According to recent surveys, President Biden and President Trump are in a tight contest, with Biden maintaining a slim three-point lead. It’s crucial to remember that these findings are within the surveys’ margins of error and show “no clear leader.” On the other hand, some recent surveys have indicated that President Trump has a lead over Vice President Biden of seven points, which is greater than the margins of error.

“This is significantly closer than where we were four years ago. So this idea that Donald Trump can’t win the general election, I want you to lose that idea. This race is very, very close, and Donald Trump is polling better than basically any point during the entire 2020 election,” he said.

On NBC’s Meet the Press, Chuck Todd presented troubling surveys showing that President Biden’s favorability and approval ratings have fallen below those of Hillary Clinton in October 2016. This decline in support is comparable to Clinton’s regrettable loss to then-candidate Trump.
“This stuff has taken a huge toll on him. Biden, before our 2020 elections, was right side up which in our polarized politics is quite astonishing. But look, Trump and Rudy Giuliani began this campaign to try to tarnish Biden, to try and turn him into the Clinton name, with the obsession over the Ukraine business dealings with Hunter, and it’s worked,” Todd said.
