What was once promoted as a lighthearted, charity-driven celebration has steadily devolved into a traveling circus of alcohol-fueled disorder. This year, downtown Cincinnati became the latest city to learn that lesson the hard way.
And when the drunken Santas crossed the line, Cincinnati bar bouncers responded with force that looked straight out of a Hollywood cult classic.
SantaCon Spirals Out of Control Near Great American Ball Park
On a cold Saturday night in downtown Cincinnati, hundreds of revelers dressed as Santa Claus flooded the city as part of the annual SantaCon bar crawl. Snow covered the streets, alcohol flowed freely, and patience quickly ran out.
Outside the Holy Grail, a popular bar located across from Great American Ball Park, security personnel were clearly prepared for trouble. And they did not hesitate when things turned ugly.
