Chris Wright Just SHATTERED the Green Agenda

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

One leader, Jason Isaac, pulled no punches.
“Secretary Chris Wright has delivered the boldest course correction in modern energy policy, and the results speak for themselves,” Isaac wrote. “He has led the largest deregulatory initiative in Department of Energy history, cut billions in wasteful green subsidies, and restored a clear path to American energy dominance.”¹

Isaac went even further, highlighting the breadth of Wright’s reversals.
“He halted dozens of harmful appliance rules, streamlined NEPA, canceled politically driven wind, solar, and carbon-capture spending, reignited U.S. LNG and nuclear development, and used emergency authority to keep critical coal capacity online, so the grid stays stable when it matters most.”¹

Trump Survivor Coin

For the first time in years, the energy sector says Washington is finally prioritizing consumers, reliability, and the workers who actually power the country.

Billions in Green Spending Torched as Wright Resets DOE Priorities

Wright didn’t stop with scrapping appliance mandates. He also gutted billions in green giveaways that critics say were nothing more than corporate welfare wrapped in an environmental bow.

He axed $3.7 billion in carbon-capture and decarbonization grants, a program conservatives argue was funneling taxpayer money into failing renewable experiments.² His team also pulled the plug on EV manufacturing grants, reversing Biden’s attempt to force Americans into vehicles they neither asked for nor can afford.

James Taylor of the Heartland Institute applauded the shift.
“Chris Wright has done an amazing job of actually prioritizing American energy development and affordability rather than globalist misguided climate agendas.”²

Wright even created a new energy efficiency category for natural gas tankless water heaters, shielding affordable models from Biden-era restrictions that would have priced out millions of Americans. And he delayed seven more appliance mandates covering everything from air conditioners to light bulbs.

Environmental Activists Rage as Their Regulatory Empire Collapses

The Left’s reaction has been explosive.

Greenpeace USA’s Tim Donaghy accused Wright of doling out favors to energy producers.
“These policies might be good for Trump and Wright’s rich corporate buddies, but they are downright evil for working people,” Donaghy said.³

He went on to claim Wright’s decisions drain Americans’ wallets while endangering public health.
“The sad thing is that the Trump administration’s policies are creating more pollution that will make Americans sick. Every year, 350,000 Americans die younger from being exposed to toxic air pollution from burning fossil fuels.”³

The Environmental Working Group’s Bernadette Del Chiaro also attacked Wright’s agenda, calling the policy wins a fossil-fuel “giveaway” that she says will undermine American competitiveness and green-energy investment.³

Wright’s Reforms Mark a Clear Rejection of Biden’s Failed Energy Playbook

The Biden administration repeatedly promised that its energy rules would save consumers money. But those “savings” depended on restricting choice, raising upfront costs, and pushing inferior products onto American homes.

Wright made it clear the Trump administration is done with that approach.
“A top priority for President Trump is lowering costs for American families,” Wright said. “The people, not the government, should be choosing the home appliances and products they want at prices they can afford.”⁵

Consumer advocates agree. Sal Nuzzo of Consumers Defense called Wright’s moves the “most sweeping de-regulatory initiative in U.S. history” and praised the administration for rejecting ESG-driven regulations that punish consumers and reward Wall Street activists.

The Bottom Line

Chris Wright is dismantling Biden’s green regulatory regime faster than environmentalists can issue press releases. He is undoing mandates, restoring reliable energy, and pulling billions out of the renewable lobby’s hands.

And judging by the fury coming from the environmental activist class, his reforms are hitting exactly where it hurts.
