Chauvin Drops Bombshell: Appeals Verdict in George Floyd Case!

Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, was found guilty in the George Floyd case. His legal team has decided to appeal this decision based on new evidence that was not shown during the original trial.

Derek Chauvin, the ex-policeman who was found guilty of killing George Floyd, argues in a recent court document that the evidence disproves his guilt of murder.

Derek Chauvin, a former police officer serving a 21-year sentence at Arizona’s Florence Maximum Security Prison, has filed an unexpected appeal on his own without legal representation. Chauvin asserts that he has received fresh information from Topeka, Kansas pathologist Dr. William Schaetzel. Schaetzel says he thinks George Floyd died from a paraganglioma, a rare kind of tumor, rather than from asphyxia brought on by Chauvin’s actions. This kind of tumor can cause a lethal adrenaline rush. It’s crucial to remember that Schaetzel based his analysis on examined autopsy reports rather than doing a physical examination of Floyd.

Schaetzel told reporters, “I can’t go to my grave with what I know,” he added, “I just want the truth.”

Schaetzel contacted Eric Nelson, Chauvin’s previous lawyer, in 2021 and even made efforts to get in touch with the prosecutor and judge in the Minnesota trial. But neither did Nelson question the validity of the federal civil rights charges against him, nor did he tell Chauvin about the doctor’s findings or theories.

Chauvin wants his conviction overturned and to be given a second chance at trial or, at the very least, a chance to present new evidence, according to a Western Journal report.

After being turned down twice by federal courts, Chauvin’s appeal is currently pending a ruling from the US Supreme Court.

Turning Point USA and The Post Millennial member Savannah Hernandez offered her perspective on X, saying, “We should consider Chauvin’s innocence. George Floyd’s passing was a result of a drug overdose, and Chauvin’s incarceration seems to be a response from BLM activists.”

The timing of the appeal is noteworthy because it aligns with the publication of the documentary “The Fall of Minneapolis,” which explores the case and the trials that followed. Every juror had a stake in the verdict, according to Derek Chauvin’s lawyer Bill Mohrman, who made this claim in the movie’s promotional materials.

In his motion, Chauvin claims that no jury would have found Dr. Schaetzel guilty if his testimony had been used in his 2021 state trial. Fox News reported this allegation, which casts doubt on the trial’s verdict.
