California’s Democratic governor Gavin Newsom — a man who always seems to find himself at the center of his own disasters — just walked right into another self-made embarrassment. After trying to take a swing at Donald Trump on social media, the punch landed squarely back in his own face.
The controversy started when Newsom jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to slam President Trump, posting:
“literally dancing in Asia while 40 million people lose access to food.”
He was referring to the temporary lapse in SNAP benefits due to the ongoing government shutdown — a shutdown, mind you, that Democrats have repeatedly refused to end. Despite their twelve chances to vote to reopen the government, they’ve chosen politics over progress every time.
But in the world of the internet, hypocrisy never goes unnoticed. Within minutes, X users dug up an embarrassing reminder of Newsom’s own “Asia moment” — and it’s a clip he’d probably love to erase from existence.
